Youth in Mining

Youth in Mining
Supporting the development and participation of young Tanzanians within the mining ecosystem through mentorship, skills development and entrepreneurship.
Joseph Kusaga is also involved in Youth in Mining, supporting the development and participation of young people within Tanzania's mining ecosystem. His involvement is rooted in the belief that the future of mining will depend not only on the resources beneath the ground, but also on the young Tanzanians who will become the entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators and leaders of the industry. Creating Opportunities for Young Tanzanians The modern mining sector creates opportunities far beyond extraction. Young Tanzanians can participate across technology, engineering, logistics, equipment supply, finance, environmental services, professional services, entrepreneurship and other areas connected to the mining value chain. Youth in Mining provides an important platform for encouraging young people to understand these opportunities and see mining as an industry in which they can build careers, businesses and long-term impact. Mentorship & Strategic Guidance Through his involvement, Joseph Kusaga contributes experience, mentorship and strategic perspective to the wider conversation around youth participation in mining. His approach is centred on helping young people and emerging initiatives recognise opportunities, develop their potential and build meaningful connections within the industry. From Participation to Leadership For Tanzania to fully benefit from its mining sector, young people must have opportunities to participate across the entire value chain. The ambition is not simply to prepare young people for employment, but to encourage them to become entrepreneurs, suppliers, professionals, innovators, investors and future industry leaders.
